Job Description:

Guilderland High School is seeking to fill a probationary track, counseling position.  Counselors typically have a caseload of approximately 250-260 students.   We are seeking an individual that has the following qualities:

• A team-oriented person who can work with five other counselors and three clerical staff.
• Ability to support and problem solve when students are struggling academically or with personal issues.
• Understanding of the college application process.
• Understanding of crisis management.
• Understanding of high school scheduling.
• Ability to multitask and handle a high volume of paperwork and procedural duties.
• Understanding of graduation requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively with parents, colleagues and outside agencies.
