Job Description: The Elementary Teaching Assistant supports student learning and classroom management in a variety of settings. The TA works under the supervision of the classroom teacher to provide academic, social, and behavioral support to students. This includes working with small groups, supporting individual students (including those with special education needs), and helping create a positive, productive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: -
Assist teachers in delivering instruction by working with individuals or small groups of students. -
Support classroom routines, transitions, and procedures to maintain a safe and orderly environment. -
Reinforce lessons and provide additional explanations or practice as directed by the teacher. -
Assist students with organization, classroom tasks, and use of instructional materials. -
Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, playground, and other school settings. -
Provide support to students with varying needs, including those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). -
Collect and record student work or observational data as directed. -
Prepare instructional materials and maintain classroom supplies. -
Promote respectful, inclusive, and positive interactions among students. -
Maintain confidentiality regarding student information. Selected candidates will be contacted for interviews. |
