Job Description:
This is a 6-week Leave of Absence, Teaching Assistant position, starting on January 3 and ending on February 14, 2025.
Looking for a dynamic individual with a positive personality who enjoys working with young children in kindergarten and first grade. Collaborating with teachers and being part of a team is also part of this position.
Hours are 7:40-2:10.
Responsibilities include supporting students with disabilities in general education and special classroom environments.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a child-centered philosophy. The ability to support students with disabilities in general education and special classroom environments under the direction of the classroom teacher. Strong communication skills and a willingness to collaborate with students, parents, colleagues and supervisors. Excellent organization of instructional materials. The ability to monitor and reinforce skills and concepts previously taught by the classroom teacher in individual or small group learning stations. Good judgment, problem-solving skills and an ability to maintain confidentiality. Regular attendance, acceptance of responsibility, willingness to follow established procedures, cooperation and the ability to react appropriately to changing work conditions are normal expectations of the job. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.
