Minimum Job Requirements: 

Must satisfy Albany County Civil Service requirements for this title. This appointment would be provisional until successful completion and performance on the Albany County Civil Service exam for Computer Technician. 

Job Description:

Responsibilities: This is a Competitive Level Civil Service position responsible for providing technology related support at the building level;

• Assist in the implementation of the District Technology Plan
• Assist the Technology Leadership Team with usage reports and recommendations for the future.
• The successful candidate will be required to take the appropriate Civil Service Examination and be reachable from the list.
• While performing the duties of this job, the Computer Technician is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
• The Computer Technician must occasionally lift and/or move more than 40 pounds.

Essential Duties:

• Providing on-site support for both instructional and non-instructional technology, including internal and external networking (both wired and wireless)
• Installation and use of hardware and software; Maintenance and repair of technology equipment.
• Provide support for curriculum integration.
• Thorough knowledge of Windows, Apple and Chrome Operating systems and associated hardware.
• Effective use of personal computers and related peripherals.
• Must also be able to support network software and teaching and learning techniques.
• Strong background with office administrative software, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Continuous learner, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to relate to and work well with students and staff.
