NYS reading or iteracy certification.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Elementary Reading Teacher to join our dynamic and collaborative team. This position will support students in developing strong literacy skills, foster a love of reading, and provide targeted instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners. The ideal candidate will bring both a passion for literacy and a commitment to working closely with colleagues, students, and families.
Provide engaging, differentiated reading instruction to elementary students in both small-group and whole-class settings.
Implement the school’s literacy curriculum with fidelity while adapting instruction to meet the needs of individual learners.
Assess student progress regularly and use data to guide instruction.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure consistency and continuity in literacy instruction.
Create a welcoming and supportive learning environment that fosters student confidence, independence, and enthusiasm for reading.
Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress, strengths, and areas for growth.
Participate in grade-level and school-wide team meetings, professional learning, and collaborative planning.
Fulfill all professional responsibilities of a classroom teacher, including maintaining records, adhering to school policies, and ensuring student safety and well-being.
Candidates must be collaborative, professional, child centered, have currentl NYS reading or literacy certification, and be knowledgeable on the reading process and developmental skills associated with reading.
