Minimum Job Requirements: 

Qualifications Valid New York State teaching certification (Elementary Education, Grades 1–6 preferred) Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred; Strong classroom management and organizational skills 

Job Description:

Guilderland Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered educator to serve as a long-term substitute for a 3rd grade classroom during a maternity leave. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of all students.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver daily instruction in all core subject areas, including English Language Arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
• Implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and New York State learning standards
• Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative measures and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Establish and maintain a structured, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
• Collaborate with grade-level team members, a special education teacher, special area teachers, and support staff
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
• Uphold school policies, procedures, and expectations
