ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST - PROBATIONARY

Minimum Job Requirements: 

Possesses NYS certification as a school psychologist. Possesses leadership experience, organizational skills, and communication abilities to effectively coach and support teachers and their instructional teams. Is well-versed in research-based intervention strategies. Experience with students with developmental disabilities, including autism, preferred 

IN DISTRICT TRAVEL REQUIRED

ASSIGNED TO SERVE 4 ELEMENTARY SELF - CONTAINED CLASSROOMS

Responsibilities include: 

• Conduct psycho-educational evaluations and develop FBAs and BIPs

• Attend and support team meetings with the administrators, instructional and support staff, and parents

• Provide behavioral support and crisis management

• Use data to help teachers develop and implement classroom-based, developmentally appropriate interventions for individual children and/or groups of children to enhance their acquisition of social/emotional and cognitive skills 

• Develop, model, and use instructional and behavioral support tools and assist teams with the implementation of these interventions
