Pay Scale: $50 per hour
Job Location: Tutoring services are provided directly within students’ homes.
Job Description:
The Special Education Tutor provides individualized academic instruction to students who are unable to attend school due to medical, disciplinary, or other approved circumstances per the CSE. Instruction is delivered within the student's home and is designed to maintain educational progress in alignment with the student's IEP.
Collaborates with school personnel, parents/guardians, and related service providers to ensure continuity of educational programming while maintaining a safe, professional, and supportive learning environment.
2 hrs per day, 5 days per week
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide direct academic instruction to students in their home setting in accordance with students’ IEP’s
Implement instructional strategies that address the student's individual learning needs, strengths, and goals.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of instructional sessions, attendance, and academic performance.
Communicate regularly with school personnel regarding student progress, instructional needs, and concerns.
Collaborate with related service providers, parents/guardians, GCSD administrators to support student success.
Adapt instructional materials and methods based on student needs and learning styles.
Maintain confidentiality of all student information in accordance with FERPA and district policies.
Follow all district procedures related to home instruction services, documentation, and reporting requirements.
Establish and maintain professional boundaries while working within the student's home environment.
Ensure a safe and respectful learning environment during all instructional sessions.
Qualifications Required:
Certified special education teacher
Knowledge of special education regulations, IEP implementation, and differentiated instructional practices.
Ability to work independently and manage instructional responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications Preferred:
Experience working with students with disabilities across a range of educational settings.
Experience providing individualized or home-based instruction.
