Job Description

READING TEACHER LOA

Westmere Elementary School is looking for a 3-month leave of absence Reading Teacher, (Sept- Nov. 30, 2026)

Hours of 7:25-3:10 including lunch and planning time

Must have current New York State Reading or Elementary certification
Candidates should be collaborative and have knowledge of the reading and writing process, including strategies to support decoding, comprehension and phonological skills. Having knowledge about the science of reading is preferred but not mandated.  

Candidates should be flexible, professional and willing to work with a team of reading teachers and classroom teachers. 

The position is set for three months, but could be extended further into the school year.
