EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Successful completion and graduation from an accredited speech and language disabilities program 

  • NYS certification in speech/language disabilities required 

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA) preferred

  • Experience with evaluations and implementation of Augmentative Communication Systems, including programming, updating, and troubleshooting

Start Date: July 7th

End Date: August 13th 

Additional Dates: Regents Examinations August 18th and 19th (7–8 hours each day)

Hours-8:00 am-11:05 am. 

Rate of Pay- $48.38

Job Requirements: Attendance, follow-up/making phone calls to parents and assisting with student emotional/behavioral needs during the summer school session.

Job Description:The Guilderland Central School District is seeking a creative, collaborative, and enthusiastic Library Media Specialist for a full-time probationary opening located at Farnsworth Middle School beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.

The Guilderland Central School District is committed to preparing students to become active, literate, informed, caring, reflective, and productive lifelong learners. Prospective candidates must have a strong commitment to cultural equity, student-centered learning, promoting student inquiry, and differentiated instructional practices.  

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing students with an enriched library environment containing a wide variety of print and media materials
  • Maintaining a diverse collection that is responsive to student interests and curricular needs
  • Collaborating with teachers to develop units and design and deliver instruction
  • Teaching students how to effectively search for, evaluate, and use information from various sources
  • Assisting students in developing skills to access library resources including databases
  • Integrating instructional technology tools and resources into the library to enhance learning and research opportunities
  • Cataloging, organizing, and maintaining the library collection, including physical and digital resources
  • Implementing effective circulation procedures to ensure access to materials for both students and staff
  • Facilitating overall operation of the library
  • Promoting and modeling a lifelong love of reading
