| Elementary Classroom Aides | | Elementary Classroom Aides Minimum Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or higher preferred). Ability to follow directions, adapt to student needs, and maintain a patient, encouraging attitude. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Job Description: The Special Education Classroom Aide supports the instructional and behavioral needs of students with disabilities in inclusive and/or self-contained settings. This position works under the direction of certified staff to promote student growth, independence, and access to the curriculum. Key Responsibilities -
Assist the teacher in implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans. -
Support students with academic, behavioral, social, and communication needs in small groups, one-to-one, and whole-class settings. -
Facilitate student participation in classroom activities, specials, lunch, recess, and field trips. -
Provide physical assistance to students as needed, which may include lifting, positioning, feeding, or toileting. -
Monitor student progress and report observations to the teacher or case manager. -
Help prepare instructional materials, organize supplies, and maintain an orderly classroom environment. -
Promote positive peer relationships, social skills, and appropriate behavior through modeling and reinforcement. -
Follow all school policies, confidentiality requirements, and health/safety procedures. -
Participate in team meetings and professional development as directed. -
May work in a general education classroom, special education classroom, or other school settings. -
Requires flexibility to support students across grade levels and programs. | $16.00 - $17.60 hr. commensurate with experience |
