Position Summary

The Elementary Building Substitute Teacher provides consistent instructional and classroom support within the elementary school by serving as the on-site substitute teacher. This individual works daily in the building and is assigned to classrooms as needed to cover teacher absences, ensuring continuity of instruction and maintaining a safe, productive learning environment for all students.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as the daily substitute teacher for assigned elementary classrooms based on building needs

  • Implement lesson plans prepared by classroom teachers and maintain instructional routines

  • Manage classroom behavior in accordance with school expectations and policies

  • Provide clear directions and academic support to students during lessons and activities

  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment

  • Communicate effectively with classroom teachers and building administrators regarding daily activities and student progress

  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, support staff, and administrators as needed

  • Supervise students during transitions, recess, arrival, dismissal, or other assigned duties

  • Follow all school procedures related to attendance, student supervision, and emergency protocols

The Elementary Building Substitute Teacher is an integral part of the school community, providing stability and support for students and staff by ensuring classrooms remain productive and well-managed during staff absences.

$120-$150 per day
