Job Description:

Position:  Aide Monitor - 6.75 hours (10 month, 185 days)

Location:  Farnsworth Middle School

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • The ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and the public as well as maintain confidentiality.
  • A pleasant demeanor and demonstration of good judgment and the ability to use problem-solving skills in stressful situations would be essential in this position.
  • Regular attendance, acceptance of responsibility, willingness to follow established procedures, cooperation and the ability to react appropriately to changing work conditions are normal expectations of the job.
  • The ability to walk extensively, stand, sit, use close vision, distance vision, and have the ability to hear and communicate.
  • The ability to lift and move tables (Cafeteria Monitoring).
  • The ability to immerse hands in disinfecting water to wash down tables (Cafeteria Monitoring).
  • The ability to assist with maintaining traffic flow and parking protocols in our front, side, and rear lots.
  • The ability to learn how to assist our receptionist with the processing of guest information in our E-Z Lobby computer system.
  • Successful passing of fingerprint and background checks as per federal/state requirements.
  • The ability to handle various duties throughout the building and assist administrators and staff as needed.
  • The quality of being dependable, flexible, and respectful to others.
  • The ability to relate well and enjoy working with middle school students.

Job Description:

The Teacher’s Aide provides individualized support to a specific student(s) in an elementary school setting. This role involves assisting the student with academic tasks, social interactions, and behavioral goals. The aide works closely with the classroom teacher, special education staff, and other professionals to ensure the student is fully supported throughout the school day.

The Teacher's Aide needs to have a positive and professional attitude and is someone who enjoys working with young children and a team of adults. Hours are 7:40 a.m. - 2:10 p.m. daily or when school is in session.

Cafeteria Monitors

Cafeteria Monitor

Minimum Job Requirements: 

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience working with children is a plus. Ability to remain calm, patient, and firm in a busy environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to stand and move around for extended periods. Ability to lift and move light objects (e.g., trays, bins).

Position Overview:

The Cafeteria Monitor supports a safe, respectful, and orderly environment during lunch periods. This role ensures that students follow appropriate behavior expectations, assists with maintaining cleanliness and organization, and helps facilitate efficient meal service and transitions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students in the cafeteria during designated lunch times.
  • Promote and reinforce positive behavior and school expectations.
  • Assist students as needed (e.g., opening containers, finding seats, navigating the lunch line).
  • Ensure safety and orderly movement of students to and from the cafeteria.
  • Encourage good table manners and respectful interaction among students.
  • Monitor for food allergies, spills, or other safety concerns.
  • Clean tables and assist in maintaining a tidy cafeteria environment.
  • Communicate concerns or incidents to appropriate school staff.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
