Guilderland Central School District seeks to fill 2.0 Self-contained Special Education Teacher positions for the Comprehensive Skills Program for Grades K-2 and Grades 3-5.  The full-time positions are located at Pine Bush Elementary School and Guilderland Elementary School. Student composition of the classroom includes students who are eligible for the New York State Alternative Assessment and have delays in cognition, communication, and adaptive behavior skills.  Most students have developmental disabilities, including autism, cognitive impairments or multiple disabilities.  The starting date is September 1, 2024.  Salary as per contract.  Please apply through RecruitFront and upload a letter of interest, resume, and references.  

Qualifications:

  • Must hold the following certifications: NYS Students with Disabilities Grades 1-6. Multiple certifications preferred including NYS Students with Disabilities Birth-Grade 2 and/ or NYS Certification in Literacy.  
  • Individuals must possess good communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, be well organized, and have an understanding of elementary curriculum, IEPs, and modifications. 
  • Experience with behavior interventions, curriculum modifications, and working as a team are essential.
  • Candidates must work collaboratively with general education teachers.
  • Experience in elementary settings is preferred.

Job Description: The professional service day for school nurses shall be seven hours and fifteen minutes, exclusive of lunch. School nurses shall work all days as indicated on the official school calendar which includes 183 day of instruction and all superintendent conference days. In addition, the work year shall include up to 60 additional hours to be scheduled between July 1 and the first day of school, for additional compensation

Responsibilities:  The School Nurse provides health services for students and staff and acts as advocate, liaison and consultant on health issues                  

Job Duties Include:

•Providing and documenting professional nursing services in accordance with Nursing Standards and NYS Licensing.

•Identifying and assessing student health needs, implementing services and evaluating plans of care. 

•Providing state mandated vision hearing and scoliosis screening,

•Obtain, review and record mandated immunization and physical reports.

•Act as liaison between home, school and community providers for medical issues.

•Complete student and staff accident/insurance reports.

•Compile and complete NYSDOH immunization survey.

•Participate as a member of school’s Instructional Study Team

Job Description: The Food Service Worker works under the supervision of the School Lunch Director and performs manual work related to the preparation and serving of food. While performing the duties of this job, the Food Service Worker is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, and crouch; and talk and hear. The Food Service Worker must frequently lift and/or move more than 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Heat/reheat food for meal service daily. Inventory, order and stock food and supplies. Maintain a variety of records including those related to production records, daily reports, register tapes and receipts. Serve food on the serving lines. Monitor refrigerator temperatures on a regular basis. Clean and maintain the kitchen equipment and serving area. Performs daily tasks as needed, including operating the dishwasher, ringing the register and setting up for meetings. Communicates with the School Lunch Director regarding repairs and complaints or suggestions from building staff. Attend meetings and in-service as required.

Job Description:  Guilderland Central School District seeks full-time building substitutes for the 2023-2024 school year.  Prospective building substitutes will provide direct instructional support (as needed) to all classes in the building among other tasks to support building operations.  Experience working with diverse secondary student populations and effective instructional technology is desired
